Accreditation??????? What is the difference between a school being NATIONALLY accredited and not being nationally accredited? I am trying desperately to go to school online, and Westwood College has nothing about being nationally accredited. The Art Institute does, but it is WAY more expensive. I am willing to pay more for an education that is worth-while, but is it worth it to go nationally or not? So, should I go national or not?
What accreditation is required in your country to teach children? I don't mean martial arts specific accreditation, but being accredited as safe to work with children. In Australia it's called a "Blue Card". They do criminal and background checks before issueing. The idea is to keep sickos away from kids. Anyone in Australia who works with children in any area must have one. Could you tell us your country/state as well as your answer please ? Thank you ?
County looses its accreditation, what happens to the colleges? I want to transfer to this college, but the county that the college is in may loose their accreditation. Now it has not happened yet, but this is not the first time that they were up to lose their accreditation. What accreditation does it take to become a family/marriage counselor? Member since: March 28, 2006 Total points: 562 (Level 2) Points earned this week: --% Best answer lilmissy S What accreditation to become a family/marriage counselor? I want to become a family/marriage counselor. I'm working on a bachelor of psychology now. I don't have the time to become a licensed psychologist, I just want to work with hurting children and families. I've heard some people say it takes hours (approx. 2000) of clinical work before you can become licensed. How is it then that pastors have clergy licenses and are able to counsel people. I'm wondering if it would be easier to get a theology degree and counsel through a church. Any suggestions?
What is accreditation by the higher learning commission? I'm interested in going to a college that states they are a acredited by the higher learning commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA)which is a regional accreditation. Apparantlly the higher learning commission accredits a school and that makes that school a member of the NCA. Why doesn't the school just get accredited by the NCA? Why do they go a round-about way of doing it?
What makes a college have Unspecified Regional Accreditation? If a school is listed as having Regional Accreditation, but has "Unspecified Regional Accreditation". What does that mean? Is that good or bad? Does it mean that there might be different branches of a school in different parts of the united states?
What are the requirements for CPA accreditation in the state of Oklahoma? I work for a non-profit foundation in Tulsa, OK. We have one educational program right now and we want to start a CPA course. I need to know what the "rules" of accreditation are. I cannot find anything useful on the internet and I really don't have time to surf anymore. Can anyone help? I DO NOT need sarcastic or insulting answers. I live in Oklahoma and I am not stupid, nor is the majority of us here. So take your dumb insults elsewhere.
Can a computerization project run into problems of bogus accreditation ? There can be a system S and a model M, and accreditation that the model M is correct and the system S has undergone successful model based testing against model M. It would be easy for a rogue developer to modify system S, modify the model M to "reflect the released code", and claim the modified systm and model are somehow "accredited".

How important is accreditation for a MBA? I am looking between two programs; The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredits one, while International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) accredits the second. I know the AACSB is more coveted within the business community, but is a degree from an institution accredited by IACBE worthwhile? Do the different levels of accreditation really matter? Or is it merely important to get a degree from an accredited university? The AACSB degree will be much harder to attain (fitting into my schedule), is it worth completely going out of your way to get the higher accreditation?
How do I find out if my school's nursing program is going to lose its accreditation? I have heard through the grapevine that the community college that I attend is in the process of losing its accreditation for the nursing program due to many people flunking out and failing the N-CLEX. I want to see the information for myself because I am planning on applying to the nursing program after the Spring semester. Is there somewhere that I can go to see this for myself. I know that I can ask the counselors, but who knows if they will be truthful about the situation. Thanks for your help.

What is the highest educational accreditation for colleges issuing graduate degrees? I am looking into a particular graduate school with a very specific program. It offers courses strictly online though so it is only accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (which I know is good for local accreditation) but nationally it is accredited by Distance Education and Training Council. I've never heard of that accreditation, is that legitimate or what is the "big time" accreditation I should be looking for?

How can I be sure that the online school I choose has the proper accreditation and that my degree will be useful? Does anyone have any suggestions for online journalism degrees?
Do you know about quality assurance educational accreditation? I work in an University and currently we are in the process of getting accredited/certificated by various educational accreditation agencies. Once we are done, we'd like to accredit ourselves, offering our service to the local schools. I know we will need authorization from the state but my boss wants me to look for international "licensing" too. You know about any agency/group that accredits you to accredit?
Can't a university lose its accreditation for giving out answers on practice exams? I transferred to the university of south florida last year. I was shocked that several of the general education classes I am taking give practice exams that have questions and answers that are verbatim to the actual exams. Any idiot can just memorize the practice exam and walk out of the class knowing nothing, yet making an A+ grade. Couldn't they lose their accreditation for doing this? I feel like my degree will have no value.

Should I major in computer engineering if the program is not accredited? How important is accreditation? The university that I currently attend offers Electrical and Computer Engineering and the programs are very similar except for a few different courses. I am in my sophomore year and I changed my major from computer science to EE. I was thinking I would Major in EE and minor in CS, but my advisor feels I should just major in Comp Engineering since I already have a little knowledge. However, the CE program is relatively new so it's not accredited as of yet. I really changed my major because I didn't want to limit myself to computers. But my advisor says the same jobs an EE can get a CE can get. How true is this? And what should I do major in Electrical Eng and Minor in Computer Science or should I just major in Comp. Eng.
What do i look at in terms of accreditation for school? I am very interested in doing some courses online since I would still like to work and set my own hours. I am worried though about putting money into something that isnt going to be recognized by a potential employer or another college if i choose to continue my education again. It seems there are many groups that accredit different schools so how do i know which is the best or legitimate?
How can I acquire MBA Degree accreditation? My family owns an Institute for business research and education (in Belgrade, eastern Europe), which has guaranteed right to issue certificates. Problem is that those certificates are not internationally valid (they are valid for Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia, Macedonia and (I am not sure) in Croatia. Does anyone know how and where I can acquire right (accreditation) to issue internationally (or at least USA or EU based) valid MBA Degree Certificates? It would be great business at the moment in Eastern Europe (during the period of transition). Is it enough to get license from one of West-European / US universities? Is there any special procedure for acquiring license?

Do employers care about AACSB accreditation and school pedigree when it comes to BSBA MIS degrees? For practical and financial reasons, I will be attending a local university. I haven't fully decided yet, but I'm leaning towards majoring in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management Information Systems with a concentration in Computer Science. My question is whether or not employers will care that this degree isn't accredited by the AACSB or that this school isn't well known? The university is regionally accredited, btw.
