What is accreditation by the higher learning commission?
I'm interested in going to a college that states they are a acredited by the higher learning commission and a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA)which is a regional accreditation. Apparantlly the higher learning commission accredits a school and that makes that school a member of the NCA. Why doesn't the school just get accredited by the NCA? Why do they go a round-about way of doing it?

- Accreditation is a process conducted to verify the quality of education provided by colleges and universities in a certain geographical area. If a school is accredited, it means that the school has satisfied a standard or above standard quality of education based on the criteria set by accrediting agencies or by the government itself.
